Skiing, Scenery and Adventure
Monte Rosa
At 4,634 meters, Monte Rosa is the second highest peak in the Alps after Mont Blanc. On the border between Italy and Switzerland, it enchants with its grandeur and beautiful landscapes. An icon of mountaineering, its Himalayan Wall is the dream of those who seek the limit and extreme conquest.
In winter, Macugnaga’s Himalayan Wall is dressed in ice and snow, creating a spectacular backdrop that attracts skiers, mountaineers and photographers. The slopes of the two ski areas, amidst forests and wide slopes, offer the chance to ski with the majesty of Monte Rosa in the background.
Belvedere
This quiet and well-equipped environment is ideal for taking your first steps on skis, in a setting surrounded by nature and with views of Monte Rosa.
At the base of the Pecetto chairlift is a school camp perfect for beginners, where young and old can try their hand at discovering skiing.
The Fontanone slope, which runs from the Alpe Burki intermediate chairlift station at 1593 meters to the village, is the ideal slope for beginners who can improve their skills in total safety in its 2 km length!
The slopes Belvedere and Ruonograbe are among the most popular in the area: they offer a scenic slope of intermediate difficulty, ideal for those seeking fun without excessive difficulty. They alternate gentle stretches with steeper slopes, perfect for smooth and enjoyable skiing.
The Monte Moro
Moro Pass at 2870 meters, reached by two cable cars that seem to take you straight to heaven, offers a unique experience for all mountain lovers. In addition to skiing, it is possible to go snowshoeing, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. For those seeking relaxation, the views of Monte Rosa offer an atmosphere of peace and serenity, making Passo Moro an ideal destination for a rejuvenating break away from the daily hustle and bustle. A strong point is the sun, which, even during the short winter days, is present all day long.
